Saddlemen S3500 Deluxe Sissy Bar Bag Mounting Instructions

The instructions that came with the sissy bar bag do not include instructions of how use the straps that came with the bag. This web page has instructions and pictures of how I used the straps to mount the bag to a Electra Glide Sport (FLHS) Harley Davidson motorcycle. These same techniques could be applied with other motorcycles and Harley Davidson models.

There are 6 straps included with the bag; 2 straps that have a loop with connectors, 2 extension straps, a backpack strap, and a shoulder strap.

Using the two straps with a loop, I connected these to the saddlebag guards, one on each side. The bag seemed very secure using just the pad mount, plus the two straps secured to the saddlebag guard rails.

I used the two extension straps to connect the side straps, on the bag, to the grab bar on the seat. I don't believe these are necessary because the bag was pretty secure using just the two straps with loops, connected to the saddlebag guard rails. But, with the top roll bag, and depending on the weight in the bag, these extension straps  would secure the bag better to the bike.

The backpack straps are used as follows:

The shoulder strap is used with the roll bag:

There is one connector, on the very bottom of the bag that I haven't determined what it's for or how to use it. This is a larger connector that doesn't fit the connectors of the straps. At this point, I don't care because the bag is very secure using the straps and connectors as illustrated.

I hope you found these supplemental instructions helpful. This appears to be a good motorcycle luggage bag with everything you need to securely mount it to the motorcycle. Now all I need to do is take a trip with the new bag and test how it handles on the road and lugging it to and from hotel rooms.

I purchased the bag from Motorcycle Super Store (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/3/13/124/13818/ITEM/Saddlemen-S3500-S3500S-Deluxe-Sissy-Bar-Bags.aspx), for $179.00 (free shipping).
