The purpose of this web site is to help new and existing alpaca owners understand the management of the animals. There's lots of information available in printed form, on the web and obtained through farm visits with existing owners. What I've found out through experience, is that a lot of the information is not documented or when you're first starting out, you have a lot of information that's hard to retain. Plus, some information only can be obtained from experience. If you want Grand Champion alpacas, it will take experience and research.

Many people do not have experience raising livestock, these animals are marketed to people in high income brackets that want to diversity their investments, want a change in lifestyle, and are attracted to the farming business tax advantages. These animals are easy to manage and take care of, but they do require hands-on management, such as giving shots, trimming toe nails and teeth, grooming their fiber for shows, helping give birth, and caring for the babies. These are not easy tasks for some people, but with a little help you will manage just fine. This web site will help you get through those initial tough times, use it as a reference or contact me for assistance.
